Frequently asked questions...
How much time will students spend on the course?
This number very much depends on the individual students. Students that truly have learned what we teach in Spanish I, they will simply be producing a weekly project. The average student will spend 5-8 hours a week on the course.
Do I need to take the proficiency test?
Students are REQUIRED to take the proficiency test. The test gives the student a good idea of their strengths and weaknesses with the Spanish I content. It also insures that the student is properly placed in the course and well prepared to be successful.
What if I don't like the online course?
Students have until June 9 to drop the course, no questions asked. Any fees will be applied to the student account. After the June 9 deadline, the grade earned in the course WILL APPEAR on the high school transcript.
How much is the course and what do I need?
The course is $250. This is a great deal!! This course earns TWO high school world language credits. Students need an iPad or computer with reliable internet access. If they are using a computer they will need a headset with microphone for recording.

Can't students just take the proficiency test and then take Spanish II?

How long is the class?

Why not just take Spanish I again and get an easy A?
Learning a language is something that takes dedication and practice. When students are placed in a course that is below their ability level, they tend to work below their ability level. Imagine if you took a year off from your sport or musical instrument? Then you jumped back in, but all of your classmates had been working hard to improve for the last year. You will not be at the level you were when you took your break.
Do I need to wear my uniform to the face-to-face meetings?
No. You are free to wear what you like to these meetings.
